Trip to Portland

Over Memorial Day weekend, we headed south to Portland/Eugene! Our friend is getting married and we went down to meet the bride-to-be! We had lots of fun, but taking 2 little ones on a car trip is certainly an adventure! From our house to Portland is about 3 hours - with good traffic, then from Portland to Eugene is a little over 2 hours. We stopped about 3 times from here to Portland! And at least 1 stop from Portland to Eugene! But luckily both kids did pretty well living in a hotel room for 3 days, and being constantly on the go! It was lots of fun, but by the end everyone was exhausted!
We don't have many pictures from our trip, but we did lots of fun things! We arrived in Portland late Friday night, and early Saturday morning we headed to Voodoo donuts, which is popular for their unique donuts - like a maple bar with bacon, or fruit loops on a frosted donut, but besides being unique - their donuts weren't anything worth raving about - Top Pot is still my fave. We mostly spent Saturday walking downtown Portland and finding lots of yummy places to eat! Highlights of Portland included Jamison Square Park where they have a spray pad fountain for kids, and this amazingly huge park, perfect for toddlers, with swings, a sand box, and the biggest play area I have ever seen! It was great!
Sunday we headed to Eugene and stayed until Monday afternoon and caught up with our good friend and met his fiance! If you ever find yourself going to Eugene, we went to this place called Off the Waffle ... amazing!! I think we waited about 45 mins for 3 waffles - granted it was the morning of Memorial Day, but it was 45 mins worth the wait! The best waffles I have ever had!

It was such a great trip and our first vacation with both kids!

Grant and Hannah were such troopers being in the stroller so much exploring Portland!

Jamison Square:

The best play area! Right by the Portland zoo.

It was late and Grant was in his pj's, but we couldn't pass up the opportunity of letting him play at this park!
